Start with cutting the tabs on the top of the box to create desired slit size. Then cover the box with printer paper (since I don't have a working printer what better use do I have for the paper?). It is a little see through, however, it's much cheaper than using construction paper or card stock and very light and malleable. I just used regular scotch tape and it held together fine. Time for details! Like I said earlier, I drew mine because I like to do that, but printers would do an even better job than me. I used the card stock I've still been working on using up from our wedding and colored pencils. From there it's just drawing out your details. I did make the door separate and tape in on later which gave it a bit of a pop. Although I still have some final touches to add to the sign with directions. I appreciated the pun that using Monster's Inc door gave me and capitalized on that. Printing out Mike, the sign and the door would be a giant time saver but in the long run the mom-to-be thought this was a perfect display for a door prize. Hopefully you do too!
